Techshop- Round Rock, TX November 2014 to Present


 

Consult with and assist members of Techshop Round Rock with the design, implementation and building of their projects.

  • Maintain and operate 3 axis cnc mill, manual metal lathe, water jet, 3D printers

  • Assist with the operation of design software, machinery and material selection as needed.

  • Teach Autodesk Fusion and assist Techshop Events and Education coordinators as needed.

  • Support the local Maker, Art and STEAM communities in the Austin/Round Rock area.

Chief Designer

Lee Machine & Tool - Round Rock, TX. September 2013 to August 2016


 

Act as lead designer. Produce conceptual design, specifications and project scope for multi-phase design project.

  • Engineer and design breech locking mechanism for a compact, lightweight gas operated individual weapon.

  • Design unique components to work within the parameters of the conceptual design and projected reduced weight while keeping manufacturing process in mind.

  • Use Autodesk Inventor to build 3D models of project components, assemblies and sub-assemblies for review and analysis of design and engineering intent.

  • Use Makerbot 3D printer to make plastic prototype parts to use in design review.

  • Use PathPilot control software to run 3-axis CNC machine, Jet Lathe and Flow water jet to cut final prototype parts for assembly.

Firearms Sales and Consulting November 2011 to August 2012

Assist customers in the selection and purchasing of rifles, shotguns and pistols.

  • Educate new shooters in the function and safe handling of firearms.

  • Ensure the completeness of federal form 7734 when selling firearms.

  • Maintain “bound book” for incoming and outgoing firearms, complete California specific Record of Dealer Sale and all California regulations (handgun safety, DROS).

  • Inspect and evaluate incoming firearms, stock shelves, clean display cases.

General Motors- Engineering Communications

Gonzalez Contract Services - Madison Heights, MI October 1994 to November 2000

Assigned to General Motors Truck- Troy, MI
Work within the engineering communication community by producing assembly illustrations and Product Assembly Document (PAD).

  • Follow engineering intent via engineering blue prints, Engineering Work Orders (EWOs), marked up PADs and verbal communications with engineers, designers and specifications personal.

  • Maintain multiple model year continuity for consecutively concurrent model years from concept through prototype, preproduction on to production.

  • While at General Motors Truck I was able to stop a multi-million dollar safety recall, the result of my diligent oversight resulted in only a service notice and a minimal cost to the corporation and dealerships.
